Tempering, Pressure and Isolation Valves for Plumbing Work
Water-control valves do jobs that decorative tapware cannot. Paradise Kitchens lists plumbing fittings such as Methven tempering valves, pressure-limiting valves, relief valves and non-return isolation components, with selected 15 mm and 20 mm connections. These products are chosen for their pressure, temperature and backflow duties. If you need to buy a replacement valve, use its exact specification and the plumbing design, not the appearance or connector size alone.
For visible bathroom fittings, compare bathroom tapware and basin tapware; plumbing valves serve a different purpose and require their own technical assessment.
- Tempering valves: These blend hot and cold supplies to deliver controlled outlet temperatures when correctly selected and installed.
- Pressure-limiting valves: Rated components regulate incoming pressure within the conditions stated on the body or datasheet.
- Relief valves: Safety valves are selected by the correct rated pressure and intended appliance arrangement.
- Non-return isolation fittings: Certain valves allow isolation while preventing reverse flow where the design requires it.
- Thread and connection sizes: Nominal 15 mm and 20 mm descriptions do not replace checking thread type and joint method.
- Approval and installation: Relevant Australian standards and installation requirements must be checked by the licensed plumber.
