Matte
Low reflection gives the cabinetry a softer, flatter appearance. It’s a strong option when you want the colour itself to do the talking rather than a shiny surface.

Why Polyurethane
Polyurethane gives cabinet doors a painted appearance rather than a printed timber or laminate pattern, making colour a much stronger part of the kitchen design.
White isn’t your only option. Polyurethane cabinetry gives you access to a broad palette, from quiet neutrals to deeper greens, greys and blues.
Use the same finish on a simple flat door, a Shaker profile or an integrated finger-pull design depending on how much detail you want.
Polyurethane surfaces are relatively easy to maintain. For everyday marks, start with a soft cloth rather than harsh or abrasive cleaning products.
Before You Decide
Choosing a painted kitchen finish is about more than how it looks in a showroom. At home, you also need to consider fingerprints, knocks, cleaning, budget and how the cabinetry will handle everyday use.
See the Difference
A small painted sample only tells you so much. Look at complete kitchens to see polyurethane cabinetry works with different door profiles, colours, benchtops, lighting and surrounding materials.
Flat polyurethane cabinetry with a softer low-reflection surface.
Painted Shaker doors paired with a lighter benchtop.
Reflective cabinetry used to create a brighter, sharper finish.
A stronger polyurethane colour used to turn the island into the focal point.
Deep coloured cabinetry paired with an integrated finger-pull profile.
A softer sheen paired with timber or warm neutral materials.
Wetherill Park Showroom
A phone screen can’t show you how a painted cabinet reflects light or how a profiled door feels when you run your hand over it.
Visit the Wetherill Park showroom to see polyurethane kitchens and other cabinetry options in person. Look at complete kitchen displays, compare colours against benchtop materials and talk through the finish you’re considering with the team.
Bring your plans, measurements or kitchen photos so the discussion is about your room rather than an isolated sample.

How It Comes Together
Bring your measurements, plans or photos and tell us what you want to change. If you already have a paint colour or saved kitchen image, bring that too.
Work through the layout, cabinet profile, colour and sheen. This is where you decide whether you want clean flat doors, Shaker cabinetry or a handleless look.
Once the measurements and specification are agreed, your custom kitchen cabinetry is manufactured at Paradise Kitchens’ Wetherill Park facility.
Have the cabinetry installed as part of your agreed project scope or discuss the supply-only and DIY options available for your kitchen.
Why Paradise Kitchens
Paradise has been designing and manufacturing kitchens for more than four decades, giving you a team familiar with different cabinetry materials, profiles and renovation scopes.
Polyurethane isn’t your only option. Paradise also works with laminate, vacuum-form and other cabinetry materials, making it easier to compare the finish against your priorities and budget.
Your custom kitchen cabinetry is manufactured at the Paradise Kitchens factory in Wetherill Park. This gives our team direct involvement from the confirmed kitchen specification through to cabinetry production.
You can discuss professional installation as part of the project or choose a supply-only route if you’re organising your own trades.
Plan Your Budget
Two polyurethane kitchens can look similar in a photo and still have very different quotes. Cabinet quantity, door profile, benchtop, internal storage and the amount of renovation work all affect the final cost.
More cabinets, tall units, corners and island cabinetry mean more material and manufacturing.
A simple door and a more detailed routed profile involve different manufacturing and finishing requirements.
Your selected polyurethane colour and sheen form part of the final cabinetry specification.
Paradise also offers laminate and other door materials. Comparing these against polyurethane can help you decide which option best fits your priorities and spend.
Material, slab size, thickness, cut-outs and edge details all contribute to the final quote.
A complete kitchen replacement is a different project from replacing selected components such as doors, benchtops or hardware.
What Your Quote Covers
A useful quote should show the cabinetry and work you’ve actually discussed rather than leave you guessing what is included.
Polyurethane Kitchen FAQs
Here are some common questions about polyurethane kitchens. If you have another question, call us on 02 9757 4400 and our team can help.
A polyurethane kitchen uses cabinet doors finished with a painted polyurethane coating. It gives you a smooth painted surface and a broad choice of colours, with matt, satin and gloss options available for different looks.
Generally, yes. In kitchen cabinetry, “2-pac” or “two-pack” commonly refers to a two-part polyurethane paint system used on doors and panels. It’s why the terms 2-pac kitchen and polyurethane kitchen are often used interchangeably.
Yes. Paradise Kitchens currently lists polyurethane doors with a finger-pull handleless shark-nose profile in its kitchen packages. The shaped edge gives you somewhere to grip the door without adding a separate handle to the front.
Paradise does offer kitchen door replacement as part of its renovation services. Whether your existing cabinet boxes are suitable, and which replacement-door finishes can be used, should be checked from the condition and measurements of your current cabinetry.
The current Paradise Kitchens website does not specifically list V-groove polyurethane as an available profile. It does document other polyurethane options including Shaker, pencil-edge and finger-pull handleless designs, so confirm any additional routed profile with the design team.
Paradise offers polyurethane as well as laminate, vacuum-form and other cabinetry finishes. The website does not specifically promise that different door materials can always be mixed within the same kitchen, so this should be discussed and priced for your individual design.
