Find the Right Splashback for Your Kitchen

Your splashback should do more than protect the wall. It should work with your cabinetry, benchtop, cooking area and the overall look you want for the kitchen.

We’ll help you compare different materials, colours and finishes so you can choose a splashback that looks right, is practical to live with and suits your budget.

Glass Splashbacks

Mirror Splashbacks

Mirror Splashbacks

Mirror splashbacks can help reflect light around the room, making them a useful option for smaller kitchens or spaces where you want a brighter, more open feel.

PVC Splashback Panels

Looking for a practical panel with fewer grout lines? PVC splashback panels are available in stone, marble and timber-inspired looks and can create a cleaner, more continuous finish.

Splashback FAQs

Kitchen Splashback Questions Answered

Choosing between materials? These are some of the practical questions worth sorting out first.

What is the most affordable kitchen splashback option?

PVC panels generally sit at the more affordable end of the splashback options shown, with acrylic and aluminium composite offering other mid-range choices. The final price still depends on wall size, cut-outs, corners and the exact product selected.

Can a splashback go over existing tiles?

Sometimes. Selected compact laminate products such as Duropal can be fixed over suitable existing tiled surfaces. The wall still needs to be checked for condition, flatness and compatibility with the chosen product before installation

Is a glass splashback better than tiles?

It depends on what matters to you. Glass gives you a smooth surface with very few joins and no grout lines. Tiles offer more pattern and texture, but introduce grout that needs regular cleaning.

How high should a kitchen splashback be?

There isn't one standard height for every kitchen. It depends on the cabinetry, rangehood, cooktop clearances and whether you want a smaller splashback or a full-height feature. Measure the complete wall area before ordering.

Can my splashback match my stone benchtop?

Yes, depending on the selected surface. Continuing stone from the benchtop onto the wall can reduce the number of competing finishes and create a stronger connection between the worktop and splashback.

Which kitchen splashback is easiest to clean?

Smooth panel surfaces such as glass have very few joins and no grout lines, making everyday wipe-downs straightforward. Stone, aluminium composite, acrylic and large-format panels can also reduce the number of joins compared with traditional tiles.
